It wasn't a graphic highlight back in the day and the FMV was probably to ridiculous but the gameplay such as the strategic and tactical fighting felt good once you put time and energy into it. Basically it was a sci fi themed 'thinking man' FPS games in which the player commands a team of power armored soldiers, fighting space pirates and the Earth based Hegemony that wants to absorb the player's home system into their territory. I wouldn't call this a 'mech' game like Mech Warrior. I've seen a brief mention of them still working on Asc2 around 2011, so by now they're comfortably ahead of even DNF's production time. Iirc they announced Ascendancy 2 and a very ambitious RPG project with that space alien vibe of theirs closely after they released The Tone Rebellion in 1997, but the latter was pure vaporware and probably killed whatever funding they had. The company, Logic Factory, are some German dudes who still semi-exist whenever they feel like it, but I doubt they still do anything. but I still play it from time to time, because its style has impressed me so much, the ship-building and the research triple-helix are godly and the beautiful music goes so well with the art. This! Ascendancy has so many issues and bugs, the endgame is an insane building grind, enemy AI is retarded even after the patch, the goals and deadlines are defined too vaguely, the Chamachies are way OP. It was on iOS for a while but it seems to have vanished with the rest of the parent company.

Probably the best space 4X game ever made. Holy shit this brings me wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back! I don't even know if it was actually good.īUT ONE THING I DO REMEMBER IS THE KICKASS MUSIC. It also has 2 protagonists, a guy, and a minotaur-thing. It had a BUNCH of secrets to find, and a lot of weapons to fire at, with a bunch of different enemies to boot. Now i honestly don't know much about this game, besides it was a collectation-ish 2d sidescroller. Like badly.Īnd future cop seems like a explosion-fest of entertainment! Jeez, these games i've never heard off seem like missed gems!Īlright, I'll give of a third one. Seek and destroy looks ALOT like battletanxs, and im loving that! May give it a look! The tanks remind me, though, of a certain anime i want to forget. It may be another game, so sorry if i'm wrong. I remember playing A Die Hard game in the arcade (i think), and the most vivid memory i had of it was like this QTE of drop kicking a guy or something.
